We’re John & Amanda Ahlenius, two Purdue grads who own a farm in Battle Ground, Indiana (10 miles north of Purdue University). With degrees in Nutrition & Agriculture, you might be wondering... what business do we have in the wedding industry?
When we got married in 2018, we had big dreams but a realistic budget, and every venue we toured was double or triple what we could afford. We couldn't get past things like the absurd cake-cutting fees ($400?!), the price of a single napkin ($20 for a napkin that will only be used once?). So, Amanda did what she does best, she started finding alternatives.
Instead of going into wedding debt...

✔ We rented random tables and chairs from vendors and borrowed many from friends/family.
✔ Our friend who’s a chef handled the food.
✔ Amanda’s-mom’s-best-friend’s-son became our DJ (with a little bribery 😅).
